Senators Question Kennedy's Ethics Claims Amid $50 Million Anti-Vaccine Settlement

U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Angela Alsobrooks, Richard Blumenthal, and Ron Wyden have written to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., questioning his shifting ethics claims related to a $50 million anti-vaccine settlement.

The senators expressed concern that RFK Jr.'s recent public statement may indicate he has modified or strayed from his initial ethics agreement, which allowed him to retain a 10% contingency fee in cases he had referred to his former law firm, Wisner Baum.

RFK Jr. helped spearhead a lawsuit against Merck & Co. and the HPV vaccine Gardasil before becoming HHS Secretary, and his family may be financially benefiting from the settlement, according to an investigation led by Senator Warren.
