Skild AI Revolutionizes Robot Automation with General-Purpose Physical AI Model

Nvidia-backed startup Skild AI has made significant strides in developing general-purpose physical AI. The company's robot foundation model, built on Nvidia technology, can learn new tasks from a single video demonstration.

The Skild Brain omni-bodied foundation model has already been deployed at an Nvidia factory in Houston, where it's being used on dual-arm robots to assemble Nvidia Blackwell GPU systems. The model can adjust when objects move, recover from errors, and combine skills in sequences it wasn't explicitly programmed to perform.

Nvidia Director of Product Management for Autonomous Machines Amit Goel said the S1 robot foundation model shows how quickly an operator could teach a robot new work. He added that manufacturers have the opportunity to make automation more adaptable as products, components, and processes change.
