Slackbot Surges, Fueling Salesforce Growth Amid Intensifying AI Competition
Slackbot users have seen a significant surge in adoption, increasing by more than 150% in the second quarter of fiscal 2027. This growth is being driven by Salesforce's efforts to integrate AI capabilities into Slack, making it a more valuable tool for businesses.
The company reported that upgrades to premium Slack additions tripled after the launch of Slackbot. Bookings for Agentforce One Edition and Agentforce for Apps also more than doubled quarter over quarter, indicating that customers are moving beyond trial phases and adopting higher-value offerings.
Slack's performance is supporting Salesforce's overall results, with revenues rising 11% year-over-year to $11.35 billion in the second quarter. Subscription and support revenues increased 12% to $10.82 billion, with Slack and Agentforce cited as key contributors to this growth.
The integration of AI into Slack gives Salesforce another path to expand customer spending and accelerate revenue growth over time. However, the company faces competition from Microsoft and Zoom, which are also embedding generative AI into their workplace collaboration platforms.
