Smoky Jerk Chicken from Tashana's Brings Flavor to Yulee Food Truck Scene

Tashana's Jamaican Cuisine is a food truck that has been operating since October 2025, making it just under a year old. The truck is parked outside the Home Depot in Yulee and serves traditional Jamaican dishes like jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtail, fish, and wings.

The menu is fairly focused, with enough variety to make you think for a minute but not so much that you need a study guide before ordering. I opted for the jerk chicken plate, which comes with rice and peas and one side, for $25. The fried plantains were a good choice as my side.

The jerk chicken was the strongest part of the meal, with a smoky quality and warm allspice and clove notes underneath. The charred skin added crispy, blackened spots that carried even more of that grilled flavor. It was tender and juicy, falling off the bone easily.

The fried plantains were enjoyable but leaned more heavily toward the fried side of things. They had a caramelized sweetness but also came through with grease a little stronger than the sweetness. The rice and peas were the most subdued part of the meal but improved when the juices from the jerk chicken started working their way into them.
