Southwest Boeing 737 Hit with Catastrophic In-Flight Biohazard

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 suffered an unexpected and rancid biohazard on Tuesday after a Belgian Malinois had a catastrophic accident in the middle of the aisle. The incident occurred during flight WN-4981 from St. Louis to Fort Lauderdale, which was just 30 minutes shy of landing.

The dog's owner, seated in the front row, reported that the majority of the two-and-a-half-hour flight passed without incident, but the dog suddenly became distressed and started 'frantically clawing at the carpet' as it searched for an exit. A passenger described the scene: 'The dog then proceeded to have an absolutely enormous, liquidy, disgusting, truly catastrophic accident merely inches from my seat.'

The smell was overwhelming, with one flight attendant attempting to clean up the mess before admitting defeat and laying down paper towels to soak up the spill.

The aircraft, N8975K, had been delivered to Southwest Airlines late last year and was back in service just an hour after landing in Fort Lauderdale, flying to Baltimore. The incident has raised questions about airline policies for in-cabin animals.
