Starlink Expands to Boeing Fleet as American Airlines Considers Upgrade

American Airlines is considering an expansion of its Starlink internet service to include Boeing aircraft in its fleet. This would cover domestic and long-haul routes, bringing consistency to onboard connectivity across all American Airlines flights.

The airline initially committed to installing Starlink on over 500 Airbus narrowbodies starting in Q1 2027. However, unconfirmed reports suggest that Boeing 737s for domestic routes and 777s and 787s for international flights may also receive the upgrade.

This would bring American Airlines more in line with United's aggressive Starlink rollout. If implemented, it could unify the passenger experience by replacing inconsistent providers with a single high-speed service, potentially boosting customer satisfaction and competitiveness as connectivity becomes a baseline expectation.
