State Dept Revokes 250k Visas for Crime, Security Threats
The U.S. State Department has revoked more than 250,000 visas since President Trump's second term began in office. This number surpasses the previously announced total of over 175,000 visas revoked in August for similar reasons.
The majority of these visa revocations were due to law enforcement encounters with foreign nationals who committed crimes such as assault, theft, drugs, reckless driving, sexual assault, child abuse, and driving under the influence.
The State Department also highlighted specific examples of severe crimes committed by individuals whose visas were revoked, including felony kidnapping, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation of a minor.
In addition to these cases, 2,300 visas were revoked in connection with birth tourism, where pregnant foreign nationals travel to the U.S. to give birth and obtain citizenship for their child.
