The comments were picked up by Guenther Steiner, Haas team principal, who criticized Norris's conduct as unprofessional on a podcast. Steiner explained that in Formula One, sponsors pay for exclusive deals, not just logos on cars, but also the right to be associated with drivers during key moments.

Steiner argued that Norris broke this expectation by drinking Coca-Cola, and that he should have been more aware of the commercial implications. However, he emphasized that this incident was minor and did not affect Norris's performance or standing in the championship.
