Tap to Pay on iPhone Expands Across Eight Latin American Countries
Apple has expanded its Tap to Pay on iPhone service across eight new countries in Latin America, bringing contactless payment capabilities to merchants and consumers alike. The update now covers Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru.
Tap to Pay on iPhone allows users to accept contactless payments using their compatible iPhones and supported payment apps without needing additional card readers or terminals.
The expansion brings a list of six new payment platforms to the Tap to Pay ecosystem in these countries: Mercado Pago (Argentina), SumUp (Colombia, Peru), Symbiotic (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras), Geopagos (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras), and Azul (Dominican Republic).
Tap to Pay on iPhone is also compatible with contactless debit and credit cards from major payment networks, including American Express, Mastercard, and Visa.
