Teams Integrates with GitHub for Developer Collaboration
Microsoft and GitHub have integrated their platforms to improve collaboration between developers. Microsoft Teams users can now connect with GitHub projects, receive updates, and discuss ongoing issues directly within a Teams channel.
The public beta of this integration began rolling out on September 10. According to Ashok Kirla, a program manager at Microsoft, the goal is to make it easier for developers to collaborate around their projects from any context they work in.
Users can link their GitHub and Teams accounts using an @github sign-in command and subscribe to notifications about any activity from an organisation or repository. Notification cards will display updates on GitHub projects within a Teams channel, including all relevant information such as checks, descriptions, labels, assignees, and reviewers.
