Teamsters Strike Against Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc., Shut Down Ohio Operations
Over 300 teamsters in Northeast Ohio have joined their colleagues in Indiana on strike against Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc., effectively shutting down the company's Ohio operations.
The Teamsters, represented by Local 135, are demanding a fair contract with weighty offers on wages and affordable health care. They also refuse to cross the picket line, citing the company's failure to bargain in good faith.
According to Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery and Soft Drink Conference, 'The company has been failing to seriously bargain with our members, and we aren’t going to stand for it.'
