St. Johns County is getting its first Trader Joe's store in the Legends Landing retail development, which includes Costco and Buc-ee's as neighbors.

The new location will be a 12,500-square-foot building near I-95 and International Golf Parkway, adjacent to other major retailers like Bass Pro Shops and Home Depot.

Stiles Retail Group, Cantrell & Morgan, and FCA Partners acquired the 93.1-acre site for $45 million earlier this year, with plans to develop a mixed-use retail center featuring several restaurants and stores, including Trader Joe's, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Hobby Lobby, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, and Floor & Decor.

While an official opening date has not been confirmed, the new location will provide St. Johns County shoppers with a closer alternative to their current nearest Trader Joe's in Jacksonville Beach or Mandarin, which is approximately 30 minutes away by car.
