Turkish Airlines Finalizes Order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX Jets After Engine Dispute
Turkish Airlines has finalized its order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with options to purchase an additional 50 jets. The deal was announced on September 23 and is valued as Turkish Airlines' largest single-aisle order from Boeing.
The agreement comes after a dispute over engine maintenance terms with CFM International, the joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran, stalled negotiations in 2025. Turkish Airlines had threatened to abandon the purchase if an agreement could not be reached.
Deliveries of the new MAX aircraft are scheduled for 2033 through 2037 and will support Turkish Airlines' short- and medium-haul network from Istanbul. The airline has ordered the MAX 8, with flexibility to switch to the higher-capacity MAX 10 as its requirements develop.
