Turkish Airlines Lands Massive Boeing 737 MAX Order
Turkish Airlines has made headlines in the aviation industry by finalizing a massive agreement with Boeing for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The deal, which has been in discussions since 2025, marks the airline's largest ever single-aisle aircraft order and is aimed at bolstering its short- and medium-haul network.
The agreement includes 100 firm orders for the Boeing 737-8, with options for an additional 50 aircraft. The deal also provides substitution rights for the Boeing 737-10, offering Turkish Airlines flexibility to meet increasing passenger demand. According to Murat Şeker, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, 'This agreement marks another significant step in the continued expansion of our fleet.'
The new aircraft will enhance Turkish Airlines' operations on high-demand routes, with the Boeing 737-8 offering a 20% reduction in emissions and fuel consumption. Currently, Turkish Airlines operates over 200 Boeing aircraft, including the 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner.
