Ugborodo Leaders Receive Apology from Chevron Protest Organizer

Leaders of Ugborodo Federated Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area have received an apology from Mrs. Vivian Eric Mene, President of Voice of Warri Kingdom Women Initiative.

Mrs. Mene explained that the planned protest against Chevron Nigeria Limited was for the benefit of Itsekiri Nation, not to incite violence or chaos.

She claimed that Chevron has neglected the community's interests, citing the recent hiring of 18 staff without any Itsekiri representation, despite training 32 qualified Itsekiris under the VTP program.

The protesting women carried banners demanding equal opportunities and empowerment for Itsekiri people, as well as promotion of current Itsekiri staff to higher positions.
