US Navy Awards Boeing $562 Million Contract for MQ-25A Stingray
The US Navy has awarded Boeing its first production contract for the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aircraft, valued at $562 million. The fixed-price incentive contract will fund initial production of three Lot 1 Stingrays and advanced acquisition of long-lead components for three additional Lot 2 MQ-25As.
The MQ-25A is a carrier-based unmanned aircraft designed to serve as a pathfinder for future unmanned carrier aviation. It's expected to deliver improved reach, lethality, and survivability for warfighters, allowing them to outpace evolving threats.
Navy Capt. Daniel Fucito called the contract award 'a pivotal transition from development to operational reality,' crediting the joint government and industry teams for their focused effort.
