Vietnam Seeks Deeper Ties with US Corporations

During his trip to the United States, Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President To Lam met with leaders of several US corporations in New York. The meetings aimed to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

Lam met with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, and praised the company's presence in Vietnam over the past decade. Apple has supported over 200,000 jobs in Vietnam through its supply chain and iOS app economy. Lam encouraged Apple to deepen cooperation with local partners, develop its supply chain, and contribute to Vietnam's digital transformation.

Cook responded by praising Vietnam's development potential, young workforce, and positive business environment. He expressed Apple's commitment to expanding its presence in Vietnam and strengthening cooperation with local partners.

Lam also met with Chip Kaye, chairman of Warburg Pincus, and Brendan Nelson, senior vice president of The Boeing Company. Lam welcomed further investment by Warburg Pincus in sectors where it has strengths, including industrial and logistics infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and financial services.
