Westchester Employers Told to Establish Clear AI Review Rules
Westchester employers are being urged to establish clear AI review rules before implementing more AI tools in their workplaces. According to a recent study by IBM, 71% of CHROs and senior workforce executives identified the ability to supervise, validate, and override AI output as the most essential workforce skill.
The study also found that 41% of CHROs believe employees may not feel safe challenging or overriding AI outputs. To address this concern, employers should establish specific operating rules for human review, including guidelines on when to check sources, what information can be used by AI, and who signs off before output is shared with customers or colleagues.
These requirements should also answer ordinary questions such as what happens when the employee and the model disagree, and when a task should return to a primarily human process. Managers should also measure review work, as IBM found that 80% of CHROs believe AI creates invisible labor through validation, correction, context, and exception handling.
Clear review rules can improve adoption by turning skepticism into a useful control rather than treating it as resistance. Employers should evolve their rules based on experience, reviewing samples of AI-assisted work each month to identify errors employees catch most often and adjust checklists or approval gates accordingly.
