WestJet Cancels Flights Amidst Cabin Crew Strike Threat

WestJet has started canceling flights and parking its Boeing 737 aircraft due to an impending cabin crew strike. The airline stated that it is taking this measure to maintain operational control and protect the integrity of its network. The strike, which was scheduled to start at midnight on Sunday, July 31, 2026, may still be called off if parties reach an agreement.

The move affects WestJet's Boeing 737 aircraft, but Q400 flights operated by WestJet Encore, as well as codeshare flights with airline partners, remain unaffected.
