Why Nvidia Trumps SpaceX for Investors
Nvidia and SpaceX are two of the most valuable companies in the world, with significant growth potential. However, when it comes to choosing which one to invest in, Nvidia stands out as a more attractive option.
One key reason for this is valuation. SpaceX's market capitalization is nearly $2 trillion, trading at around 100 times sales. In contrast, Nvidia has a much lower valuation, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 28.5, despite being expected to grow faster than the broad market.
Another reason to favor Nvidia is its partnership with SpaceX. The two companies have a close relationship, with Nvidia owning over 122 million shares of SpaceX worth around $20 billion. In fact, CEO Elon Musk has praised Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture, saying 'we think it's the best architecture.' This means that any growth in SpaceX also benefits Nvidia, making its ownership a more attractive way to gain exposure to SpaceX's growth.
Lastly, while SpaceX's valuation is largely based on its futuristic vision and potential for future developments, Nvidia's valuation is grounded in its current market dominance. The company's revenue grew by 106% in the second quarter, with an operating margin of 66%, making it a more stable investment choice.
