YouTube's AI Search Expands to Rival Google
YouTube is expanding its AI capabilities to make searching and browsing videos more like Google's. The platform has introduced a new way for users to build custom video feeds by prompting YouTube with plain language, similar to how one would interact with a chatbot.
The feature, which will roll out across desktop, TV, and mobile in the US next month, allows users to create multiple custom feeds dedicated to specific subjects. This means that viewers can have separate tabs on their homepage for different topics, such as photography or college football.
YouTube is also expanding its experimental Ask YouTube tool, which uses AI to search for videos and compile information from various sources. Now, when searching for information about a new product, like the iPhone Duo, the tool will build comparison tables and other relevant content.
