Gold prices plummeted in India's national capital on Monday due to a strong US dollar and rising tensions in West Asia. The precious metal lost Rs 2,600, closing at Rs 1.5 lakh per 10 grams, following a sharp decline in global markets. This marks the second consecutive day of losses for gold, which had closed at Rs 1,52,600 per 10 grams on Friday.

Meanwhile, silver prices also took a hit, dropping by Rs 5,000 to Rs 2.32 lakh per kg, inclusive of all taxes. The sharp decline in commodity markets is partly due to rising crude oil rates and the strengthening US dollar.

The current volatility in global markets has resulted in significant losses for investors holding gold and silver. As tensions in West Asia continue to escalate, market analysts predict further price fluctuations for these precious metals.
