Saudi Crown Prince Warns of Regional Security Risks Amid Growing Tensions
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman warned of growing regional tensions and security risks in the Gulf, emphasizing the importance of protecting maritime routes and energy supplies.
Speaking at the Shura Council, he highlighted the recent establishment of a joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan as part of efforts to strengthen regional stability.
The crown prince also announced the formation of a multinational maritime defense coalition aimed at securing international shipping lanes and protecting shared interests.
Saudi Arabia is particularly concerned about disruptions in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which threatens vital energy supplies. The kingdom relies on an East-West oil pipeline to transport crude to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, providing a crucial alternative route.
