Ukrainian Grain Exports Surge Amid Shift in Crop Priorities

Ukraine's grain exports have seen a significant shift in recent months. According to data from the State Customs Service, the country has shipped 5.02 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops since the start of the marketing year as of September 28.

The majority of these exports were corn, with 1.94 million tonnes shipped abroad in this period. This marks a significant increase from last year's figure of 913,000 tonnes for the same period. Wheat and barley exports, on the other hand, have declined, with wheat shipments down to 2.6 million tonnes compared to 4.7 million tonnes last year.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported that in September alone, 1.3 million tonnes were shipped abroad. The data also shows that flour exports have declined, with Ukraine exporting only 7,600 tonnes this period compared to 14,700 tonnes last year.
