US Gas Prices Hit Record High Amid Global Fuel Market Disruptions
The national average price of gasoline in the US has reached an all-time high, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). The average price is $6.51 per gallon, with diesel prices even higher at $6.505 per gallon.
This surge comes as global fuel markets face severe pressure due to disruptions in oil production, transportation, and refining capacity. Conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine have reduced supplies from major exporters of refined petroleum products, driving up prices.
The war between the US and Iran has had a significant impact on energy markets, with Brent crude settling at $104.87 per barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate closing at $100.30 per barrel on September 18.
