Bitcoin's Path to $126,000: A Barrier of Sellers and an $800 Billion Market Cap Gap
Bitcoin needs to climb 49% to reach its all-time high of $126,000, which it achieved in October 2025. Currently, the cryptocurrency is trading at $84,883, a price that represents a significant recovery from its previous low of $58,524 in June.
The market value of Bitcoin needs to grow by over $800 billion, as its current market cap stands at around $1.7 trillion. This means buyers must continue to pay higher prices along the way, and absorb the new supply of coins that are being mined daily, which could be worth approximately $20 billion at the $126,000 price point.
Bitcoin has already shown a path back to its record high with its 42% summer gain. If buyers can replicate this growth in the next quarter, we could see a price of about $120,000, just 5% shy of the all-time high.
