Republican Senator Demands Investigation Into Presidential Sons' Crypto Ties

A Republican senator is calling for an investigation into US President Donald Trump's and former President Joe Biden's sons, citing their involvement in the crypto industry.

Senator John Curtis, representing Utah, sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin, requesting subpoenas for Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden.

Curtis is concerned about the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit or preferential treatment by domestic and foreign interests.

The senator specifically mentioned Donald Trump Jr.'s acceptance of gifts from Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev and his promotion of family-backed cryptocurrency ventures, as well as advisory roles with prediction market platforms under Commodity Futures Trading Commission jurisdiction.

Curtis also noted Hunter Biden's substantial business dealings with foreign entities and instances where either man's relationship to the presidency provided value.
