Ripple Strengthens Position in Türkiye’s $200 Billion Crypto Market
Ripple is expanding its presence in Türkiye’s rapidly growing crypto market, which has seen annual transaction volumes exceed $200 billion and retail trading reach approximately $40 billion in early 2026. The company is strengthening its infrastructure and promoting its dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, as the market evolves beyond individual speculation to institutional adoption.
Türkiye’s crypto market has become one of the most dynamic globally, driven by ongoing risks to the lira and increasing demand for digital asset solutions. Ripple is capitalizing on this trend by offering regulated infrastructure through partnerships with local banks and exchanges. Garanti BBVA Kripto, a subsidiary of Garanti BBVA, uses Ripple’s solutions for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP operations, following a successful pilot in 2023.
RLUSD is gaining traction as a dollar-linked option, with platforms like BiLira and Bitlo integrating the stablecoin to meet growing demand for dollar-backed liquidity. The shift towards stablecoins is particularly significant as retail investors seek alternatives amid inflationary pressures on the lira. Ripple’s stablecoin solutions, along with custody and compliance services, position the company as a key player in Türkiye’s evolving crypto landscape.
Regulatory changes in Türkiye, including stricter crypto laws enacted in 2024 and further custody conditions in 2026, have solidified the framework for digital asset companies. Ripple has leveraged these regulatory developments to expand its institutional presence, offering solutions tailored to the needs of businesses and financial institutions in the country.
