Tokyo Issues Warning: Yen Intervention Looms as USD/JPY Trades Near 157.40
The Japanese Yen has steadied its ground, trading around 157.40 against the US Dollar on Tuesday, amidst warnings from Tokyo that they are prepared to intervene and support their currency.
Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama reinforced investor caution by stating that an undervalued Yen poses problems and expressing agreement with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The warnings from Japanese authorities come as investors await data from Japan's Ministry of Finance, due on Wednesday, which will reveal any currency intervention conducted between August 27 and September 28.
