Air Force Buys 737 MAX for VIP Transport
The U.S. Air Force has confirmed plans to purchase a Boeing 737 MAX 8 for VIP transport, marking the first military variant of the aircraft. The service will use $250 million from the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act to fund the purchase.
Air Mobility Command (AMC) posted a solicitation in July for specialized flight training services to support the rapid fielding and safe operation of the Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.
The contract will be effective November 1, but a timeline has not been set for delivery. AMC previously explored purchasing a MAX for its C-40 fleet but was blocked.
