Amazon Blocks Meta's Muse AI Agent Over Data Protection Concerns

Amazon has blocked Meta's Muse AI agent from its e-commerce marketplace, citing concerns over data protection and transparency. The move comes after Muse saw rapid adoption since its US release, topping download charts shortly after its launch.

According to Amazon, Muse did not identify itself as an agent during purchases, violating the platform's terms of service. The company requires agents to embed a text snippet in HTTP requests, which Muse failed to do.

Amazon expressed further concern that Muse could access customer data, including account pages and purchase history, without proper disclosure.
