Amazon Boosts Canadian Wages Amid Unionization Efforts

Amazon has announced that it will raise wages for its Canadian workers by C$1 to an average of C$26.27 per hour, effective September 27th.

This move comes as part of a broader effort by the company to stem union drives in both the US and Canada.

The wage increase represents a 4% year-over-year rise, bringing full-time employees' average annual earnings to nearly C$55,000 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek.

Unifor, the union representing Amazon's Vancouver warehouse workers, views this pay hike as an attempt by the company to dissuade workers from organizing themselves.
