Amazon Expands Same-Day Delivery Network to 80% of US Prime Members
Amazon is expanding its same-day delivery network through Project Mercury, aiming to place hubs within 10 miles of 80% of U.S. Prime subscribers by 2031.
The company plans to increase its number of same-day delivery hubs from 85 to over 1,000 during this timeframe and invest $6.8 billion in the initiative this year and next.
Internal projections suggest that Project Mercury could generate $7.1 billion in economic value over a decade, reach positive cash flow by 2030, and replace spending on traditional delivery facilities.
