Anthropic Unveils 'Mythos-Class' AI Models, Revolutionizing Autonomous Software Agents

Anthropic PBC has released its latest AI models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, marking a significant advancement in artificial intelligence capabilities. These 'Mythos-class' models have been integrated into cloud giants Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Foundry, enabling the development of enterprise-grade autonomous software agents.

Claude Fable 5 is designed for general commercial use and features strict safety classifiers to prevent its misuse in sensitive fields. If a user prompt triggers risk thresholds, the query is rerouted to Claude Opus 4.8. In contrast, Claude Mythos 5 operates without these restrictions, but access is highly restricted due to its potential applications in critical infrastructure and national security.

Amazon has made Fable 5 available on Amazon Bedrock and the Claude Platform on AWS, allowing customers to build and scale inference workloads within their existing environments. Microsoft has also onboarded Fable 5 into Microsoft Foundry, enabling enterprises to delegate complex multi-turn projects to agents and reason over their organization's data.
