Disney Taps AI Veteran Karandeep Anand as New Chief Technology Officer
Disney has appointed Karandeep Anand as its new Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective October 2. In this newly created role, Anand will oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data, AI platforms, product, and engineering across Disney's teams to modernize how the company builds and delivers technology.
Anand joins Disney from Character.AI, where he led the platform through a period of explosive growth, building one of the most engaged consumer AI audiences in the world. He also prioritized user trust and safety as the platform scaled.
Before his stint at Character.AI, Anand was President and Chief Product Officer of fintech company Brex and held leadership roles at Meta's Facebook, including Vice President of Ads and Business Products. Earlier in his career, he worked for 15 years at Microsoft, where he was part of the team that built the Azure platform.
