Disney Taps Tech Veteran Karandeep Anand as New Chief Technology Officer

The Walt Disney Company has announced that Karandeep Anand will join as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective October 2. Anand comes from Character.AI, where he was CEO, and brings a mix of experience across infrastructure, consumer technology, and AI.

Anand's role will be to oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product, and engineering at Disney. He will report directly to CEO Josh D'Amaro and work with segment technology teams to modernize how Disney builds and delivers technology company-wide.

Anand has a strong background in tech leadership, having held roles at Meta, Microsoft, and Brex. He was part of the team that built the Azure platform at Microsoft and later led Character.AI through explosive growth while prioritizing user trust and safety.
