Disney World Overwhelmed by Record Crowds: Attractions Reach Capacity

Walt Disney World is facing unprecedented crowds as the number of visitors has surpassed its capacity to handle them. On September 26, Annual Passholder reservations reached capacity at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, with guests being turned away from multiple parks for the first time in quite some time.

The normally busy Saturday saw attraction wait times climb dramatically across the resort, with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind reaching a three-hour standby wait at EPCOT. Frozen Ever After climbed to 115 minutes, while Test Track reached 75 minutes.

The issue is not just limited to EPCOT, as Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom also face similar challenges in handling large crowds. The problem lies in the fact that these parks do not have enough high-capacity headlining attractions to absorb the crowds, leading to long wait times for popular rides.
