Former Huskies Defensive Back Bill Cahill Passes Away at 75

Former Buffalo Bills defensive back Bill Cahill has passed away at the age of 75. He died on September 24, 2026, following a long illness.

Cahill was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington, and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1969. He went on to play college football for the University of Washington Huskies under head coach Jim Owens.

In his senior season in 1972, Cahill served as co-captain alongside quarterback Sonny Sixkiller. He was selected in the seventh round of the 1973 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints and played two seasons as a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills, appearing in 19 games between 1973 and 1974.

After his football career, Cahill built a successful career in production management for Boeing in the Seattle area. His path reflects a steady and hardworking career that continued well beyond his playing days.
