Google Takes Aim at Apple with Premium Laptop Lineup
Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google has entered the laptop market with its new Googlebook lineup, positioning itself as a competitor to Apple in the premium computer segment.
The laptops, which start at $899, will be offered by top manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. They will use either Intel or Qualcomm processors and come equipped with up to 14 hours of battery life.
Google is emphasizing its Gemini AI tools and integration with Android devices, allowing users to perform tasks such as drafting text, asking questions about their screens, and resuming tasks from an Android phone.
The launch of Googlebook marks a significant expansion for Alphabet's hardware offerings, but it also raises concerns about pricing. Apple's $699 MacBook Neo offers a more affordable alternative, posing a challenge to Google's premium strategy.
