IBM Slips 3% After Securing Key Quantum Funding Deal
IBM's shares fell by approximately 3.1% to $240.77 on Wednesday, following the news that its subsidiary Anderon had secured a finalized $1 billion Commerce Department award for its quantum-manufacturing ambitions.
The funding will give IBM a major boost in its efforts to establish a leading position in the field of quantum computing without forcing the company to shoulder the entire investment itself. Anderon operates a 300-millimeter quantum-wafer foundry in Albany, New York, where production is already underway.
The valuation snapshot shows IBM trading just 0.79% below its $242.69 GF Value, suggesting that the shares remain close to GuruFocus' estimate of fair value despite Wednesday's drop.
