IBM's Engineering AI Hub 1.4 has been made generally available since September 17, 2026, featuring new capabilities that extend AI-assisted engineering into verification and help teams spend less time authoring requirements-based tests.

The platform includes a new AI-powered test generation agent that generates draft test cases and detailed test scripts from engineering requirements, including preconditions and postconditions. This helps verification teams accelerate test authoring and develop more consistent test designs, while engineers remain responsible for reviewing, refining, and approving generated assets.

The release also makes existing Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools configuration aware, enabling AI interactions to use lifecycle data in the context of relevant project configurations. Additionally, it expands the MCP tool catalog to support richer AI-assisted engineering experiences and broader lifecycle automation.
