A proposed class action lawsuit against IBM and Johnson & Johnson's healthcare arm has been dismissed by a New York federal judge. The suit, which alleged that the companies failed to safeguard sensitive health information of thousands of patients before a 2023 data breach, was deemed inadequate by the judge.

The plaintiffs had previously been given an opportunity to fix their complaint but were unable to cure its 'deficiencies', according to the court's ruling. The case has now been dismissed entirely.
