Nvidia's Clean Runway Beats Eli Lilly's Growth Potential
NVIDIA and Eli Lilly posted impressive quarterly results that highlight their growth potential. However, only one of these companies has a cleaner runway for the next decade, according to Jensen Huang's projection.
NVIDIA delivered $96B in revenue last quarter, up 106% year over year, driven by its AI infrastructure build. The company's Data Center segment contributed $89B to this figure. Blackwell Ultra is ramping up production, and Vera Rubin is already in full operation. Huang framed the moment bluntly: 'AI has reached its inflection point. It's doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.'
Eli Lilly reported $23B in revenue last quarter, up 48% year over year. Mounjaro and Zepbound combined for $14.9 billion, with international momentum being a key driver of growth. However, Lilly's lower beta of 0.5 makes it a defensive-growth pick rather than a stronger ten-year compounder.
Huang projects 70% revenue growth in FY2028 for NVIDIA, with each Vera Rubin gigawatt representing $40B in opportunity as hyperscaler capex races toward $1.3 trillion in 2027. In contrast, Lilly's retatrutide delivers weight loss approaching bariatric surgery levels, but its regulatory path is still uncertain.
NVIDIA stands out for the next decade due to its forward P/E of 23 against triple-digit growth and a 60% operating margin. The company's platform has optionality across networking, CPUs, robotics, and sovereign AI, which keeps widening.
