Patrick Courts West Texas Voters with Tax Cuts and Infrastructure Promises
On his campaign trail for reelection as Texas Lt. Gov., Dan Patrick made a stop in Midland, where he addressed concerns about taxes and education policy.
Dan Patrick spoke at Chevron Midcontinent Headquarters with state Sen. Kevin Sparks in attendance. He began by addressing critics who claim that only 50% of Republicans turn out to vote, which could lead to the party losing elections.
Patrick criticized prominent Democrats running in the midterm elections, calling them 'Austin liberals' and stating they don't care about rural Texas. He specifically mentioned U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico, gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa, and his opponent for lieutenant governor, Vikki Goodwin.
He then highlighted his achievements in the Permian Basin, including helping facilitate infrastructure projects such as the Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center and various road investments. 'We've made big investments back into this area, and that never happened before I became lieutenant governor,' Patrick said.
