Firozpur farmers gear up for large-scale chilli exports to Dubai
Firozpur farmers are set to export 700 tonnes of green chillies to Dubai this year, up from 15 tonnes last year, after expanding cultivation to 60 acres. The expected return is Rs 2.68 lakh per acre, significantly higher than wheat. The Saragarhi Farmer Producer Company Ltd secured an export contract at Rs 29 per kg, with support from the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) team. The initiative aims to help farmers diversify and access high-value markets.
