Toxic Chemicals Found in Jewellery Sold as Sterling Silver on Major Online Platforms
A BBC investigation found that jewellery sold as sterling silver on Amazon, eBay, Temu, Etsy, and OnBuy contained toxic chemicals like cadmium and nickel. Out of 25 items tested, eight had illegal levels of cadmium, and only two were genuine sterling silver. Meranda, a buyer, experienced skin irritation from a necklace that contained high levels of nickel. The marketplaces removed the unsafe items and offered refunds, except for Etsy, which did not respond.

Crude oil prices climb on reports of US strikes in Iran
Crude oil futures rose on Tuesday after reports of US strikes on an Iranian island raised concerns about supply disruptions. Brent and WTI futures saw modest gains, while MCX crude oil futures climbed over 1% in early trading. US President Donald Trump claimed oil prices were dropping due to a perceived lack of war with Iran, amid criticism over rising fuel costs. Other commodities like copper, dhaniya, and castor seed showed mixed movements.
